WTF - Whisky Tasting Festival @ Utrecht

This is a festival I’ve been going to since the beginning. The first year I still lived in Utrecht so I guess that’s why that was my first whisky festival to visit. What I like most about this festival is that the ambience is really nice. There’s some music on the background and this festival is a little bit smaller than they others but that keeps it cozy and there are still allot of nice stands to visit! This year was the first time they did a two day festival. I went both days and I really don’t regret it, there is enough to see and taste for 2 days! At this festival allot of drams are free for you to try, some others you have te pay some extra for. Which I think is fine! The one thing I hope is that next year it isn’t so freaking hot! And if it is, some airconditioning please ;-) ! But despite of the heat, while drinking allot of water which they provided us with, it still was fun!

Potstill Festival @ Amersfoort

This festival is held in Het Klooster in Amersfoort what’s a beautiful location for a whisky festival, although it is a little bit hard to travel to with OV. At this festival you don’t pay extra for any drams. Everything is free for you to try. This year was my first time at Potstill festival and it was really nice! I went with my friend Peter from Whiscovery and we had allot of fun. I think it’s a great festival if you want to learn more about whisky. It’s great that there is bread and water everywhere and some nice cheese to try with your whisky. Jummy!

Whiskybase The Gathering @ Rotterdam

This festival is held in the Maassilo in Rotterdam. Which I found funny because back in the days I had some great party’s there and now the venue was filled with whisky bottles and whisky enthusiasts. I was surprised by how big this festival is. A shame I never went before. But next year I’ll definitely be back! So much to see and some much to try! I also followed a masterclass given by Werner Bos from Van Wees, which was really nice! He picked out some great drams for us to try! The ambience here was really nice as well. I went on a Sunday and I would recommend that. On Sunday they sold less tickets, so there was more time to have a chat with everyone which I always really enjoy. Maybe next year I will go 2 days.
